Access to "Things Chinese" section
Due to trolling and spamming, I'm going to trial having the sub-forum as private - i.e. you can only access it if you're granted access by an admin.
If any of the regulars have been passed over for access, please let me or Richard know via PM. Of course we might tell you to get lost!
As to new members, if you're a legitimate user and not a spammer, etc please post a bit in the "Things Non-China" section, so we can get to know you a bit first.

And first, I'd like to share a general introduction of me. I'm an senior consultant

Are more blogs being blocked lately?
Are more sites being blocked, or is it my lousy internet connection. I can't find ChinaLawBlog or ImageThief.Â
I propose we develop a space -- not unlike this one -- for updates about what sites are being blocked. Between the policy issues, termporary service outages and generally poor internet reliability in China, it's hard to know what is the cause. If ImageThief and CLB are, in fact, being blocked then we've just taken a huge step backwards.

Departure of another Quacking Canard
Dear fellow members of the Faction of Quacking Canards,
This is a long overdue departure message from me. I have slowly drifted away from this forum since early September this year. My friendship with both Richard and Ivan was the main reason why I returned, even reluctantly, each time after I had intermittently stopped commenting.

A goodbye song from Ivan! :-)
Richard (and some of his friends in the PRC) and I have some irreconciable differences. So, this really is goodbye from me.
So, as a farewell song, let me give you this. And thanks to "Peter", my fellow Russophone, for sharing this with me.
Here you go. Please remember me this way:
Something stinks here

Colin registered at the Duckpond in March this year. But so far he has only posted 2 comments. The first comment was posted just about a week ago under the thread Communicate with a Chinese High School on the BBC . His writing style seems to lack coherence on both ocassions. He seems to be familiar with the British education system. This actually reminds me of a golden goose who was once a regular commenter here. Hmm... Confused

Personal Notice
I recognize the irony of critiquing Ivan's tendency towards personal attacks and then posting a personal announcement here. But please bear with me. I recently hit my next step in my life plan, which will, among other things, involve a change of employment venue as well as a substantial reduction in my free time. Because I don't want to burden all of you with an increase in low quality posts about Kate Moss's legs, this will translate, in turn, to a reduction of my posts on this forum.
