Blog Categories

Thanks for all of this - it's a great site and a great promotional tool for lots of sites.

I know this is all supposed to be 'fun' and  there's not really a lot at stake except for high Kudo's, Prestige  and ability to gloat a littel :-) but it strikes me as odd that sites can register in one category and then transfer to another when it looks like they may get beat in their original category.  If that's the case, then at the last minute someone who's blog is in 2nd or 3rd place in the voting in one category, can switch categories to one that may have less votes - if you see what I mean.

Regardless - many thanks for the effort you've put into this and I hope you get many karma beers from Chinaside bloggers.

Cheers - JD in Nanjing.

Yeah, although I do moderate changes in blog info and categories, that is a possible abuse of the system. I haven't noticed anybody doing this, and if you have - please let me know.

I'm just hoping for a fun China blogosphere promotion, and it seems to be doing okay and directing plenty of traffic to the blogs.

Thanks for the caring comment. Good luck to you.

Well, i don't want to appear like a snitch, but if you check sinocidal.com you'll easily figure out who.

In saying that - if the other person feels offended by our promotion then we'd happily step down and let him win if that's what he wants.  It's all in fun and we certainly don't want to spoil that for anyone.

Cheers and I hope this runs well and you get lots of traffic through here.   This is a great idea and a well managed and setup site.  If you're ever in Nanjing, Hangzhou, Beijing or Qingdao we'll make sure you get a beer or 5.

Thanks, that's nice to hear.

Sinocial is running the most votes in Chnalyst and I personally remember putting it in "general". In any case, to prevent this from happening, this option is now blocked for the rest of the voting.

I think the point of the anonymous commentator above is not that Sinocidal has been moving itself around, but that if you read the comments of their post promoting this blog contest, then you will find out who has.
