Hm, Jing has only posted in the duckpond three times, and now Jing is asking for "special access."

Raj, do you think Jing's plea, "Gimme" is sufficient grounds to grant Jing special access to the China part of this forum?

Or do you think Jing has "earned" special access through his/her long history of posting hostile and insulting comments on TPD, insulting me and Sonagi et al?

Raj, don't you think Jing ought to EARN the right to access to other parts of this forum, by demonstrating good behaviour?

Somewhere along the way, I've lost the ability to be civil when making a rebuttal. At the very least, I'll make the duck pond a more interesting place.

Besides, when I registered to comment once, there wasn't any of this special access tomfoolery.

Let 'em in. When people name-call, they just make themselves look bad, not the commentators they insult. Other Ducks hurl insults and abusive language (not naming anyone in particular), so it seems unfair to exclude him on that basis.

So why even join when you hold the TPD and its commenters in such contempt?

t_co, the ability to post hostile and insulting comments is the basic requirement for admission to TPD.

On that basis, you are qualified. Because every comment you made is a hostile insult to your own intelligence, which is good enough for me.

Ivan and a couple of intelligent people here make excellent but hostile insults on apologists like you, Math and Pigsun, which is good enough for me as well.

But posting hostile and insulting comments ON TPD as a forum, on individual commentors and on the host are very different matters. I would consider this comment of Jing as an insult on this forum:

My verdict after reading Jing's reply: I strongly oppose to granting Jing special access because:

1. He has expressed strong intention to come here to pick a fight with those who are holding different views. He is not here for a discussion.

I mentioned cyber stalkers for a particular reason. I'm appealing to all of you fellow members of the Faction of Quacking Canards nesting at the Duckpond. Please go to TPD and have a look at some recent comments of a few troll-like characters who are lurking around the place. They all share certain characteristics:

1. They are all obsessed with Ivan
2. They are all against Putin's government in Russia and are furious about any suggestion that Russia is, in any shape or form, superiority to China
3. They all call Fat Cat dumbass but at the same time avoid getting into serious discussions with her

In my humble opinion, Jing exhibits all of these characteristics of a troll cum cyber stalker. He picked his target for stalking. That's why he is not interested in stalking me, which Jing has made it very clear in his previous comment. But he is interested in stalking Ivan.

So do we really want to invite a cyber stalker into this community? My answer is a definitive and catagorical "NO".

Why would you consider that as a threat? I thought that most people would consider that as an appropriate reaction when a woman is confronted with shameless use of vulgar foul languages like this:

It makes me wonder if Jing uses the same kind of language with female members of his family or female colleagues of his everytime when someone challenges his authority.

It also makes me wonder what kind of person t_co is. Why would he side with a hooligan like Jing? and why would he take a woman to task for standing up against sexist insults?

I'm not siding with Jing, because siding against Fat Cat =/= siding with Jing in this case. I'm merely saying that you, Fat Cat, should set an example. Fire never put out fire, and flame wars usually only end when one party takes the high road out. Now, the reason I address you, Fat Cat, is because I think you're the person more likely to do that here. What it comes down to is that we rubbish each other all the time. You and I have many of these encounters. But have I used vulgar languages on you or you on me? I'm stating a fact to Jing. If he kept behaving like that to me, to Ivan or to anyone else on this forum, we could have easily got him banned. I don't even need to persuade the site admin, they'll do it automatically. One thing to add, I made that comment that you quoted as a self-defence and it was posted before Richard came in to delete the previous even worse vulgar statement by Jing.

I don't consider this as using fire to put out fire. I consider this as standing up against threats and victimisation. Jing has a history of using vulgar languages at me, at Ivan and at Sonagi at TPD and the Duckpond. You can check the archives for more details. I have every right to make sure that his admission to this forum will not mean that I'll be forced out because of his personal vendetta against me. I've given him several chances to prove himself (again, read the entire thread). But he misbehaved badly.

Generally, I think we could all stand to be nicer to each other, but under no circumstances should openly misogynistic, sexually demeaning language of the kind Jing used (which btw not even the most outspoken regulars of TPD have ever been reduced to) be tolerated, even passively. Ever. She had every right, in this case, to fight back.

Now can we put all this drama behind us? If Jing can prove himself to be a gentleman (unlikely, but as Richard as given him a pass and he knows him better than we do, we'll see), then all's well that ends well.

The reason I wouldn't do so here is because it's an online forum, and such threats are useless against someone who can easily move to another forum, as Jing claims he can.

While banning Jing won't hurt Jing, it will remove the problem. Consequently, I believe the most prudent course of action would be to quietly get rid of him.

Of course, if this was in a public venue at a different locale, and a real person was insulting my mother, sister, or girlfriend instead of an online avatar, I'd work assiduously to dig up "information" on the said individual and also to bankrupt him.

Why should I if you're going to be like that?
