What the fuck took him so long?

Ivan, why don't you go and kill a certain former KGB agent who actively helped the Stasi oppress the GDR? Oh wait, he's the beloved papa of your Russia, Vladimir Putin, who you think trumps China's leaders in every possible way. Why don't you wish death on him? He's a former commie secret cop too.
Because he'll get poisoned with polonium, of course.

No. Both of you are jumping to conclusions, in the most irresponsible way.
From today's Observer:
An investigation was under way last night into Russia's black market trade in radioactive materials amid concern that significant quantities of polonium 210, the substance that killed former spy Alexander Litvinenko, are being stolen from poorly protected Russian nuclear sites.
and,
Privately, however, there is deep scepticism in Whitehall about whether the Putin administration would be willing to risk a crisis in British-Russian relations by directly authorising an assassination of a British citizen on British soil, particularly using a method that might involve other Britons being contaminated.

And by the way, in the future, please refrain from ever suggesting that any of our commenters might ever be murdered. Don't even do it in a joking way.
I've been following the BBC story a little bit, yes, and I agree that it seems unnecessarily showy for the Russian gov't to commission someone to poison the guy with radiation, especially within the UK.
Don't get upset. I wasn't in any way suggesting or advocating the homicide of any board members. I just wanted to satirize t_co's response a bit by bringing up the Litvinenko incident.
Sir, you can always feel free to satirise t-co ALLLLLLL you like!
Perhaps the similarities to the slaying of the Bulgarian dissident by the KGB has led to the accusations against Putin. And it seems to be Putin was implicated in the poisoning of another opponent. I believe it was in Georgia or the Ukraine? Maybe Putin had no connection to this murder in London, but his critics are sure to get a lot of mileage out of it.
