First Bus Uncle, now Airplane Sister?
Translation of a post on a Hong Kong forum:
It was July 7th, and flight CX504 was due to take off on 9:10 am. Around 8:45, I fell asleep, because I was too tired. I felt that plane begin to taxi, then it stopped on the runway for about 15 minutes. I heard the stewardess announce in Cantonese, Mandarin and English: All passengers please place their handbags beneath their seats. Thank you for your cooperation! Everyone looked around for the person who caused this, but found no one.
About fifteen minutes later (it was already 9: 45 am) we heard another announcement from the pilot (in English): Because there are two passengers in the economy class who are unwilling to listen to the crew and put their luggage in the appropriate places, our take-off time has been delayed. Please forgive any inconvenience.
Everyone went into an uproar, and started cursing (myself included). Just as everybody was searching for the culprit, the stewardesses and stewards nervously went to and fro. I heard one of them say: Open the door to let them in...
After a while, three or four airport guards and two airline officials went to the rear right side of the plane. The culprit had been identified.
I'd expected an old person or a mainland compatriot, but it was a thirty-something Hong Kong woman with OK looks. Things had gone to the point where this X woman (please excuse me for calling her that, but she was really very inconsiderate) had to get off the plane. They spoke for another fifteen minutes, but she wouldn't leave and argued about it. That was really X..
It was 10 am, and our saviours had come. Three police had come. First, they tried to persuade the woman to leave the plane, but she wouldn't. She said that she'd taken the same plane before and never had to put her bag, and didn't see why she should this time.
The officer lost his patience (and spoke quite bluntly) Miss, I'm giving you a last chance. If you still refuse to cooperate, I'm going to arrest you!
The woman instantly deflated, picked up her gold-and-silver gem-studded $5000 Gucci bag, and started to walk out of the cabin. Everyone saw her off with applause, but she stubbornly told us: it wasn't my fault, the crew was too obstinate. My bag is only two inches oversize and they wanted me to put it under the seat!
Oh, really. X times 10000000...
Two of her friends left with her.
She really inconvenienced everyone.
The most unfortunate people were the crew, who had to recheck the oversized luggage.
We didn't take off until 10:20 am, (more than an hour late, X her.)
A Japanese woman sitting next to me asked: Do you know the nationality of that woman?
I could only say, She's Chinese.
I've taken photos. If anyone knows her, please teach her the rules.
What is it with these people and public transport?
Thanks for posting this. If you have a chance, I would be grateful if you could post the link for me as well. I collect these news. It goes into one of my folders called "civilised society".

Something is wrong with this story.
Aren't the first class seats ususally at the front and the economy seats usually at the back? So, what is a woman with a $5000 (US or HK?) purse doing in economy?
The bag was probably a knockoff.
