How do I make hot-links here?!
When I try to do normal html coding - e.g. <a href="http://www.whatever.com">whatever</a>...
It doesn't work. I've tried playing with the URL box to no avail. What am I doing wrong?
Try typing a URL. Highlight it, then press the URL button
http://www.pekingduck.org/pond//
I'm not sure how to put in link text though
Don't use a href=. Use url=. Don't close with /a. Close with /url. Enclose both in []. Insert 'whatever' in between as you'll normally do.
Just like this:
You could see how I did this by clicking on the ââ¬Åquoteââ¬? button on the right hand corner and then have a look at how this is displayed in the dialogue box.
Good luck!
Say, what does the preponderance of cats say about this site?
Er, that is a cat, right ACB? In a trenchcoat?
Yes and no.
It's actually a girl with cat ears, in a flying jacket. I tried to put a tail on too, but it didn't look cute enough.
What's a girl doing with cat ears and a flying jacket? I always thought that it's a little boy wearing his father's academic gown and listening to his MP3 with a cute looking head phone. So obviously I'm wrong.
If Shulan's aunt's cat decides to join us, we can have a cats' party.
A LITTLE BOY, you're so cruel and mean and I think that I'm going to go off and cry now.
sob, sob, whaaaaaaaa.
Don't you have cat-girls in Australia (I take it that you do have ordinary cats, don't you)?
Lots of Canto-pop and J-pop idol wear cat ears because it's cute and they're always poping up in cartoons and comics. I take it that you don't have anything by Mia Ikumi or Clamp.
Of course we have cats here. Itââ¬â¢s gold and green Australia with clear blue sky, not Sahara.
There are many cat lovers here, but there are even more people who hate cats and are quite vocal about their wish to exterminate all of my fury friends. If you google the word ââ¬Åcatââ¬? and restrict the search to Australia, youââ¬â¢ll find pages and pages of practical guides as to how to ââ¬Åskin a catââ¬? ââ¬â scary stuff. Similar to other parts of the world, here everybody hates ââ¬Åfat catââ¬?. The politicians are particularly keen to ââ¬Åkeep the cat in a bagââ¬?. The media makes a fuss about it every time when ââ¬Åa cat is out of the bagââ¬?. Thatââ¬â¢s why I like hanging around at the Duck Pond because here most people seem to accept me even if they may laugh behind my back about my awful name.
J-pop, manga and anime are only popular among a selected clique of youth here in OZ, most of them are learning Japanese in schools. Thatââ¬â¢s why I wonââ¬â¢t be able to recognize a cat girl even if I see one. So donââ¬â¢t cry, Iââ¬â¢ll give you my fish bone.
I wasn't sure if you had cats in Australia, I know that you had a lot of problems with imported animals killing your native wildlife, and I wasn't sure if that meant that you couldn't have cats or not. Or if the heat and radiation in the summer made it hard for them to survive.
I suppose that they were brought in by your ancestors to kill rats at harvest time, right?
What about Canto-Pop, there are many Chinese in Australia?

I've bookmarked the site and will put it in my regular reading list.

Cats survive well here. Australians in general are only against feral cats (or cats that's turned feral). Properly kept domestic cats are OK.
What about Canto-Pop, there are many Chinese in Australia?
The majority of Cantonese speakers are either of Vietnamese or HK Chinese background. Most of them arrived here in the 1970s and 80s. Their idea of pop culture is very much like listening to Deng Lijun, Sam Hui and Alan Tam; or watching Jackie Chan movies, if you know what I mean. Their children and grand children are mostly typical Aussies. The red hot teen idol is, I believe, a group called FAO, an Australian take on of the Ugly Kid Joe and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Cult soapy, like Buffy, is also popular.
I am told that Korean pop culture is finding its way here among kids with Asian background.
My cat Murphy sits next to me on the couch as I write this, purring madly...
I'm not sure whether to be happy that they've integrated or upset that they're loosing their herittage.
Say hi to your cat from me. I'm not allowed pets in my building, and I can't travel with one because of concerns about rabbies.
Notice how all the cat avs are from female posters? Even dishie's is a cute little handbag puppy, of the kind Paris Hilton carries.
Pfftt. I am subverting the cult of cute. Mine is of the awesomelicious Zatanna.
Didn't Zatanna almost doom humanity to death at the hands of Trigon when she told the Justice League of America not to form an Aliance With Raven of Azarath?

Zatanna? Does it mean that I should have read all your comments on TPD backwards? Oh gee, it's too difficult for me. :?
And no, from what I can see, you are not subverting the cult of cute at all. If I'm not wrong, Zatanna has some dealings with Catwoman. There is a white tiger involved somewhere as well. But I can't remember what it is all about.
P.S. Just want to let you know that a Cat Girl is not necessarily female. It's quite common (and culturally acceptable) for boys to dress up as Cat Girls as well.
Yeah, I'm a little fuzzy on my Zantanna mythos.
Okay, who else here has a Phantom Stranger action figure?!

Only for Cosplay, its normal to see boys in things like sailor-fuku etc too, but not on the streets.
