足,狼真æ?¥äº†ï¼Œä¸Šä¸‹ä¸€ç‰‡æ··ä¹±ï¼Œç‹¼è¿‡å޻以å?Žï¼Œæ»¡åœ°ç‹¼ç±?,政府æ?´åŠ©å’Œç§©åº?ç»´æŒ?好几天以å?Žä»?然是一团糟,连CONVENTION CENTER这么大的地方居然连个分å?‘干净水的都没有(UP TO YESTERDAY AT LEAST),更别æ??其他了,好几天都是自生自ç?çжæ€?。

I think panzi is somehow trying to castigate the U.S. response to Katrina, comparing it to the bravery of the PLA.

ACB

Panzi

If Katrina survivors were to march on Washington to demand reform of the system that failed them, they would recieve nationwide media coverage and would probably be granted an audience with the president.

If Chinese disaster survivors marched on the people's congress in Beijing and demanded reform of the system that failed them, Beijing would allow only officially sanctioned news stories to be released which whitewashed the situation, and many the protestors would probably be arrested on charges of sedition or counterrevolution.

Hat tip to ACB. Clearly, though, something IS wrong with the American disaster response system. But in America there is discussion of the problem. In China any discussion would be limited to a few think-tanks and a handful of CCP higher-ups. Now, before you say that "open discussion is meaningless"; open discussion is testament to the system's flexibility to accept criticisms and change for the better without a mass loss of confidence in the system. That the CCP still doesn't have that sort of confidence in their system must mean something.

The Chinese system is better at some things than America. But on the whole, the American system is still more advanced.

There was a little boy named Panzi

It's simply because he's a 万

Panzi is not only a 万, he is a Madge style 万 - just loves himself so much that he couldn't help posting his own comments again and again in different forums. Panzi also likes to post in girl's names when he writes for Chinese blogs. If you don't believe in me, you can have a look at the following sites yourself:

Richard, did we agree earlier that plagiarism is a sackable offence at TPD and the Duckpond? I believe that there are more than enough evidence here to find Panzi guilty of plagiarism.

There once was a boy named panzi
And MaoZeDong tickled his fancy
So he took after Madge
And covertly cadged
All his shite, til we called him a sham. See?

I know that the tones aren't quite right, but I think that 王 is a better description of Panzi than 万.

It not only describes him perfectly when written in PinYin, but the characters also clearely defines his place beneath the sky.

Panzi,

Where are the pictures of PLA buffoonery, stupidity, incompetence, arrogance and helplessness? Oh, that's right, now I remember. Anyone who tries to publicize those pictures in China get's a bullet in the head or a long prison term. Americans admit their mistakes and try to fix them. Chinese bury them and then lie to themselves and the world about them, ensuring that they will be repeated. Sorry man, propaganda like yours is just more evidence of Chinese insecurity, fear that your not as good as America and the west.

And now I'll just sit back and wait to be told how my country, my ideas and I am a piece of shit. The inevitable personal attack which is the tool of intellectual weaklings and fools.

lightyear, don't you understand? By spelling "America" the wrong way, panzi is showing us how vulnerable America is.

This is an ancient Chinese secret, part of the power of "socialist spiritual civilisation" and MaoZeDong-Thought: Spelling something the wrong way gives you magical power over it.

Panzi transposed R for L. This is a common mistake made by Japanese.

Maybe........?

Panzi 王万, you are either a pathological liar or an ignorant pathetic moron. You are not interested in praising the PLA and the CCP. If you are, you wouldn't have chosen the 1998 Jiujiang flood incident for comparison. The incident was a well documented case to demonstrate how corruption within the Chinese government had jeopardised the safety of many construction projects, causing many people to lose their lives and their homes.

Of course you won’t believe in me and said that this is western propaganda. Well, just have a look at this report from the China Daily archive: http://english.people.com.cn/english/199903/24/enc_990324001045_HomeNews.html
There is another one from your Socialist pals at the World Socialist Website: http://www.wsws.org/news/1998/aug1998/chin-a11.shtml
As for other readers of the Duckpond who are more inclined to read about facts than propaganda, there is another report from the Geocities: http://www.geocities.com/mstkg/ic_flod.htm

In view of evidence presented above, I’d like to formally endorse Lighyear’s plead to Panzi: speak the truth and stop being an enemy of the People.

Yes, Richard, you are probably right. But then as you know, I always give people the benefit of the doubt. I guess it is the Australian in me that makes me naive. As I'm naive, I always hope for the best and because I'm hoping for the best, I will keep trying.

Inspite of my effort to demonstrate to everyone that there is nothing profound and original about Panzi, I am still hoping that deep inside this repulsive attention-seeking freak, there is still a thread of humanities, a tiny little bit of goodness, which has not been entirely consumed by anger and rage.

Coincidentally, I know for a fact that a survivor of/witness to that particular event regularly reads this message board.

Maybe they would like to chime in at this point and tell us about it first hand.

I see a patern.

Just about everything that Panzi posts is either written by somebody who expects us to be completely ignorant of China and Chinese affairs, or who was raised in an overseas Chinese community and is themselves completely ignorant of China and Chinese affairs.

There is no way that he's Mainland.

"you are either a pathological liar or an ignorant pathetic moron"....

....you know, the more I look at it, the more that line looks like the title of a classic Punk Rock song. Or a biker song. Yeah, it's more like a Biker song.

Imagine how long panzi would last if he ever ran into a Biker gang. He'd open his mouth for two seconds and then..... Kind of like Pee-Wee Herman,
like Pee-Wee Herman mouthing off to some Bikers.

This sounds like a basis for a new series of "changing the light bulb" jokes.

What does a/an x-nationality do when he hits his thumb with a hammer?

Chinese: blames Japan.

American: Sues the hammer manufacturer.

Australian: Gets drunk and then beats up the hammer manufacturer.

English: Apologises to the hammer.

Irish: Gets drunk and threatens to beat up the hammer.

Russian: Gets drunk and then makes secret plans to take revenge on all hammers on Earth, then gets more drunk and reconsiders how foolish the plan is, then gets more drunk and blames the Jews, then gets even more drunk and remembers that he's half Jewish, then blames the government,
then gets even more drunk and forgives the hammers and the government and the Germans and everyone in the world except for his next-door neighbour who loaned him the hammer. Then he threatens to beat up his neighbour, but then his neighbour offers him some vodka and they drink together and blame God for everything.

...more?....
