Oh Panzi, I adore how you send us letters in Chinese.

Ivan, you seem to be changing your avatar faster than Panzi is changing his socks.

ACB, I've been moody recently, thus the avatar changes. By the way the current one is "Damien, Son of Satan" from South Park.

Yao, I don't want to spoil it for panzi by translating the whole song, but basically the song says panzi is "my little sweetie" (feminine gender).

And my closing line roughly translates into saying he's like a coquettish young girl in a miniskirt.

But I'll leave it to him to enjoy translating the rest for himself, as he likes to play translation games with us here.

PS, that song was by the Russian Superstar, Philip Kirkorov. I invite panzi to see some concert photos of him here:

...and panzi, I can tell you Philip Kirkorov is fluent in English, so if you want to send him some fan mail, go ahead. Or send your fan mail through me and I'll translate it into Russian and send it to Philip.

See, panzi? Your Russian "Big Brothers" are STILL looking after you!

The man looks like a russian Michael Jackson! Almost as scary as Panzi himself..

Actually Kirkorov is pretty normal (sorry to spoil it for panzi) and he's crazy like a fox. Some years ago when he was around 30, he got married to an aging (but still rather good looking) Russian Diva in her 50s, and she launched his career and pretty much let him do what he wants on the side.
(And yet I think he got a good deal all around, as his wife IS really charming intelligent and good looking for her age, and she has a great sense of humour.) So he's basically a very successful gigolo, but he DOES have some real talent both as a singer and a master of High Camp.

"High Camp", kind of like the 1960s "Batman" TV series. Part of the entertainment value of Kirkirov is being in on the inside joke and playing along with it. Everyone (well, in Russia) KNOWS Kirkirov doesn't intend to be taken seriously. And so he ends up being very likable in his deliberately weird way.

Thus (not to be TOO serious about this, but) he's the opposite of Michael Jackson. MJ is dead serious about himself. But Kirkorov has made a career out of making a campy joke of himself - and yet not a ridiculous one, as he DOES have some real talents of various kinds.

He's just good fun, especially if you play along with it all like his audiences do. Also, he personifies a fantasy which many young Russian men have (well the educated ones), ie, after years of studying Dostoevsky and Kant and Tchaikovsky etc etc, young Russian men often end up saying, "To hell with having taste! To hell with being one of the intelligentsia!" (cf, what I often say about intellectuals, and yes for similar reasons) "I'm just going to be as tasteless and unintellectual as I possibly can be! And to hell with being macho! I'm sick of being macho to the point of overkill!"

Thus, Kirkorov actually appeals to a wide swathe of Russian men. He personifies a reaction against what Russian men are supposed to be like.
Actually it's the same reason why I get a kick out of him. Male liberation with a Russian accent.

And that's why I think he would be a perfect man for panzi to look up to and learn from. Come on, panzi, embrace your Big Russian Brothers!
