I fricking misspelled my username -- should be VorkOsigan

Anyone can change that for me? The admin panel should allow that.

Can't help. Not an admin.
But...you're a Lois McMaster Bujold fan? Cool.
(I'm waiting on an Amazon delivery of some Vorkosigan saga books.)

Dare I ask.

Can't you read 'normal' girls stuff like Ai Yori Aoshi and beyond the beyond. Even a little shounenai?

You go 'funny' after reading boys sci-fi.

You know how much I read. If you want me to try your favourites, lend me some of them and I probably will.

But why should reading sci-fi from award-winning female novelists make me "go funny"?

Hell yes. She's wonderful. Her Chalion stuff is great too, at least the first two, The Curse of Chalion, and A Paladin of Souls. The third one, The Hallowed Hunt, is exactly like the other two -- she's hit on a formula, and it really shows. The characterization in those novels is fantastic, though. The Curse of Chalion is one of my favorite books, although a Paladin of Souls is probably better.

I couldn't handle the intellectual Dr. Doolittle aspect of it all...

Hey! Dishuiguanyin doesn't read any of that "normal" stuff (and "normal" by what standards? Those of a prepubescent Japanese schoolgirl's?) because she has good taste. I can name on one hand the number of good shoujo manga out there.

Give me Bujold or LeGuin anyday. If you're gonna go geek, might as well go for the good stuff, I always say.

Dear God...no wonder all of you have ended up in China. To friggin' weird to exist in your home countries. Said not at all tongue in cheek...

Because nobody in our home countries ever reads books? :?:
Or do you have it in for science-fiction? Or manga? Or both?
