Yuan Yuan Yuan
  

I live a mere fifteen minutes walk from the northern side of Baoshi Shan (Precious Stone Hill), and so I sometimes wander up to its peak both for some exercise and for the wonderful views its heights offer of the city and lake. The northern ridge is called Qixia Ridge, which translates as "Colour Clouds Staying", and it is here that one will find the Good Luck Garden, referred to by the locals as Yuan Yuan Yuan. The word yuan refers to good luck, and saying it three times is in itself symbolic of luck, since the number three is an important lucky number for the Chinese, which explains why so many Buddhist and Daoist Gods are depicted as having three heads. Some Buddhist Gods even have a third eye. In China there are three Gods of Fortune, and three Gods of Purity.
